Cory was diagnosed at age 19 with Ostenogenic Sarcoma, a cancer affecting a bone in his right leg. While undergoing cancer treatment, Cory was laid off from his job at an oil safety company. Without the means to pay for his COBRA, Cory was at risk of losing his insurance. The Kern County Cancer Fund provides access to resources and financial assistance to continue cancer treatments to patients like Cory, regardless of where that care is received. Today, Cory is a three year cancer survivor, has a full time job with benefits, and only has to come in once a month for follow-up visits.
