Who we are
The Kern County Cancer Foundation was established to assist local cancer patients with the significant expenses related to cancer care.
Before KCCF, local cancer patients had to choose between paying for their mortgage or paying for treatment. In 2012, local oncologists and community members rallied together to start KCCF t o eliminate the financial burden brought on by a cancer diagnosis.
Learn More About KCCFHow we help
Our goal is to make a trying time a little less difficult.
We pride ourselves in providing one-on-one financial navigation for our local cancer patients. We utilize our own resources such as financial assistance with medical bills, transportation and groceries.
We also have relationships with other community organizations to help with utilities, and more. Our offices are in Bakersfield, CA, however in Spring 2024 we will begin our mobile navigation program bringing staff and services to the outlying areas of Kern County. We’re making it easier for patients to get the help they need.
When I was diagnosed with cancer, my husband and I tried to do it on our own. We quickly became overwhelmed with treatment expenses… our hope was dwindling. KCCF took care of the medical and insurance bills. Their help was life changing and because of them I am a survivor today.
